Rushmore

It seems that Wes Anderson is just copying and expanding upon ideas to create new American style of cinema for the 00’s. Presenting things straight, scientifically, even putting a label to ad in identification. Nice simple compositions, putting characters in the center of the frame. Keeping them stationary. Fully embracing Auteur theory and pushing it into mainstream audiences. I suppose I prefer seeing Wes Anderson’s style, then when I watched Requiem for a Dream and seeing the same body mounted camera and jump cuts from Pi. Or even Guy Richie remaking Lock Stock with better marketing and American actors in Snatch. All that being said, Rushmore was as entertaining as before, Bill Murry just kicking-ass yet again.
