Wim Wenders shows the remains of the Buena Vista Social Club as they go on a world tour (or at least NYC and Amsterdam). The documentary is more about presenting the skill of the musician with the beauty of Cuba oozing around them. Great cinematography that if anything is a little over-use of a sedicam. The editing was also excellent, one particular match cut of the piano player playing then cutting to his interview when he was miming playing, was so perfect. I can’t say that I really learned that much about the Buena Vista Social Club, but the beauty of Cuba was more then enough, to make this an excellent documentary.
