You know not as good as the first. The first seemed more settled on a genre. This one jump around too much, didn’t want to offend too much, and doesn’t fully grasp its purpose. Still uses sound to convey much of the horror, but its larger budget hurts the production. Not to mention the terrible lead-in to Army of Darkness. It felt like I had to sit through an hour or so just to see him attach the chain-saw. Groovy. Its Evil dead with too large a budget and too cocky a crew. Maybe its the lack of Joel Coens editing…
