or Yasujiro Ozu’s Good Morning. A very interesting, very thoughtful work. Terrible subtitles, thou it is in fitting with the context of the movie to have it not be very good. Two brothers in 1959 Japanese suburbs decided not to talk, until their parents buy them a television set. However the major thread through out the movie is the pettiness of adult society. How adults speak too much. How everyone fits into their identical houses, never having a conversation of real meaning. Those clouds are interesting. I wonder. Good Morning. Never space for the silences. Just plug into your role, your house, your relationships. Granted all of this is in the very cute and light package of the westernized suburbs, from the perspective of the brothers. I love you.
