A friend gave me a copy she got while on vacation. I finely watched it last night. Very long, The only extended scene I appreciated was when they steal the surf board. The playboy bunnies seemed a bit out there, the French plantation belonged in another movie. Seeing everything does however explain a lot of details from the non-redux version. This viewing made me wonder how much of the Vietnam presented in the film was true. Were the upper parts of the river a hell? Its amazing that such a great film came out of something so seemingly ad-hoc.
