A very touching road trip across Brazil. A retired school teacher finds an orphaned boy in Rio’s central station, setting off a trip to find his lost father. Along the way they grow close, the boy re-igniting the life of Dora. The plains of northern Brazil, and the lives of its traveling population are the backdrop of their travels. Brazil becomes a wilderness, like the images of the American West. Independent people striving for opportunity. Central Station has received justified praise, an enduring Brazilian film.
