A nightmarish world of a small German village Herr Doktor visits with his freak show a somnambulist. The film is rough around the edges. For me the only sticking point was the fantastic sets. Strange angles everywhere, strong fields of black and white. However even the sets seem something sort of the world. For instance the furniture is just, regular for the most part. Sure there are some scenes with really high chairs for town officials, but that’s countered with regular beds. Overall I found it disappointing, It was hyped too much.
