Murnau’s Faust. A silent treatment of both the medieval Faust, with a few elements of Goethe mixed in. Being silent it really needs something more the keep me with it. The Gretechin story was the main plot, and in the end Faust and Gretchen are saved. The devil is more crude and evil then Goethe’s and no where near as suave. More Goethe less Medieval.
