An early Wim Wenders film that shows a nice slice of both America vs New York and West Germany. A journalist is stuck with Alice on a flight to Germany, while her mother deals with her ex. Phil and Alice trace through a number of cities in Germany searching for any relatives. Phil is in the middle of a low point and doesn’t have a direction in life. Alice fills the hole that is his daily existence.
