I always mix this with the Maltese Falcon. I can’t remember which I originally preferred. I have the feeling that the Maltese Falcon disappointed me. Bogart as always is amazing. Its a joy to watch any film with him. I also watched the re-editing portion on the DVD. They added a few scenes of Bacall and Bogart, a year after the film was finished. And cleaned up some of the plot points. Which, at least according to the “expert” on the DVD resulted in a much better film.
