I think I’ve seen this since being in college, through I forgot most of the plot points. And I kept forgetting the song, mixing it with the Bridge over the river Kwai. Much better then the standard fare WWII movie, through Steve McQueen’s stunts are much more effective in Bullit, then southern Germany. After watching it, I’ve been fascinated about the actually story behind it., 3 of the escapees actually made it back to Britain and the 50 did die, but in small groups. The film also mixed in more Americans then were involved. A good Hollywood War film, along the lines of the Train, but not quite there.
