An intense film, about pain and time. Two lovers, a French women and a Japanese man, deal with the haunting memories of World War Two. After Hiroshima the Japanese man started again at year zero, in order to continue living, After being public disgraced for having a German fiance, the French women tried to start again with a blank slate. But her feeling and memories never went to far away and were rekindled with this weekend affair. As she tells her story times and space becomes mixed, the past and the present become one and the same.
