Not quite a madcap 60s comedy, but definitely absurd and bizarre. I had seen this film five years ago and remembered it being very funny and tried to see it again. Finally it came out of DVD. There were a few moments that I laughed out loud, nothing I really cringed at. The ideas behind the film are very funny, the all American left wing gun nut, spy after spy killing each other towards James Coburn, Coburn’s pornographic smile. But in the end I was disappointed, I had remembered this being great, something I should re-see despite the cost. Instead it’s a decent if not clever comedy, but one that can easily be forgotten.
