A depressing, yet very engaging Godard. He is all over the place, in telling the story of Nina as a prostitute who questions her decision. i was surprised that it kept my attention for the whole film. I’ve been in this Godard hole see way to many of his films without any context. I’ve been dreading them as homework, instead of really enjoying and trying to understand them. If I had watched this for class, I would base the dvd cover on Anna Karina’s eyes. The few times she looks directly into the camera are mesmerizing.
