Very Japanese. It has a slow, methodical pace, all the segments are meant to be contemplated while watching them. The dreams span a lifetime, from a child told to commit suicide after spying on the foxes, to men against a blizzard and Mount Fuji/Nuclear meltdown. Most of them are very beautiful contemplations. But after watching it, I was less engaged then most of Kurosawa’s films.
