I’m not sure why the Coen’s have gone so far south. I was expecting very little for this movie and my expectation were more or less delivered. One review cites that fact that both the Ladykillers and Intolerable Cruelty both started as writing jobs that the Coens ended up directing. So should I not consider them in the vein of “true” Coen films? I certainly would like to categorize them as such. The Ladykillers would be a larger disappointment then Intolerable Cruelty, if I had any expectations for it at all.
