A little rough, not as funny or as disturbing as Happiness. A girl in seventh grade has a hellish life. One in Solondz’s world is never going to get better. Suburban New Jersey to the max, I think I lived by that split level. The acting is all over the place, Dawn is good, but most like the actor playing her brother are horribly wooden. I suppose its hard to find 13 year old acting talent. The dialogue is also not as polished as I was expecting. Happiness sets my expectations high, Solondz as yet to reach it again.
