The Girl with the Pearl Earring is unwatchable and should only be viewed as a test of stamina. The whole film could have been told in 15 minutes, and it would still be boring. Very few films do I want to walk away from within the first fifteen minutes. It seemed like it could hold promise, all the elements looked to be in place. Then a long hour and half later the credits roll, while I’m still waiting for the film to start.
