Upon his retirement, Warren Schmidt’s life slowly reveals itself to be the failure it is. His wife dies, his daughter embraces a mediocre life, his life’s work at an insurance company is disregarded and literally thrown in the trash. The sole outlet for his loneliness and inadequacies are letters to a Childreach foster child Ndugu. It’s a film about failure, a life wasted. And its so very uplifting.
