A tale of a post-apocalyptic southwest after world war IV, a boy and his dog share a telepathic connection. The Boy looks for food, in return the dog sniffs for women. The desert landscape of Arizona with its ramshackle inhabitants is standard fare. The film really shines when it goes to the underground city of Topeka, a perpetual mid-summer night in 1950s middle America. Run by the totalitarian “Committee” that likes to send trouble-makers to “the farm” (where they befall misfortunes like “heart attacks” or “cancer”). Excellent for seventies B-movie, if not more then a little misogynist.
