It looks good, it sounds good, the story is ok. Roman Coppola is no Sofia for me. The atmosphere is great; Paris in the late sixties with references to Godard, Truffaut and kitschy sci-fi/secret agent films. But the story never really interested me. A film editor, becomes the director of the film after the first one leaves, falls in love with the film’s star, who runs off with another director-du-jour. Eh. I wonder how many other children directors Francis Ford Coppola will spawn.
