It started moving very quickly with some regrettable music and dubbing, but the last half hour redeemed the whole film. Three friends get into trouble in Hong Kong and flee to Vietnam (during the war) to smuggle goods and become rich. The experience leaves them far from their expectations and destroys not only the friendship but their lives. Up until the last half hour, it seems like a dumb action film full of convenient plot points. It starts to redeem itself with a Deer Hunter-esqe sequence in a POW camp. Then after the war, one ties to reconcile but it is far too late. Up until the last half hour I was wondering what compelled me to rent this, afterwards I was justified.
