Probably the best Wim Wenders movie I have seen. Travis (Harry Dean Stanton) is found in Texas after disappearing for four years. His brother (Dean Stockwell) picks him up and brings him back into civilization. Eventually Travis starts to reconnect the lost pieces of his former life, even though he himself cannot participate. The film travels back and forth across the American Southwest. It is at times mind-blowingly beautiful, with shots that deify description. An rare film that combines an excellent story with superior visuals.
