Small, light and smart Maria Full of Grace was what I was expecting. A young Colombian women quits her job and soon finds out she is pregnant. With few options she decides to become a drug mule, carrying 50 pellets of cocaine into New York. At least that was what I saw in the trailers, I hadn’t realized that the majority of the story takes place in the US, dealing with the consequences of the drug trade. Its an odd feeling in the movie, Maria is operating on borrowed time. There is an imminent foreboding that she will be caught by any of the sides against her. The film does end with hope, it seems she will succeed if only given the opportunity.
