Wonderful and marvelous, who doesn’t love long slow romances of two shipwreck seven years olds? At least I have solace in the fact that they both die at the end. Like Romeo and Juliet, they eat the poison berries after their love child fatally ingests his. Well actually the film cops out of that too. The rest of the movie follows their tanned bodies around the tropical local with plenty of nude swimming montage. It hearkens back to a simpler, purer time; when boy and girl could discover their bodies by themselves and pop babies out. Before all those troublesome trappings of civilization, like realism or dirt.
