Hilarious and smart, Shaun of the Dead is a subtle (well, not at all subtle) critique of the vapid culture that is modern life, wrapped by a zombie movie. Or 28 days later, the comedy. The title character sells televisions for God’s sake. Shaun is an underachiever until he finds a calling in slaying the zombies that have taken over England and leading his group of survivors to the high ground of the local pub. The film is much more British deadpan humor and witty dialogue then zombies. Not the say there is a lack of zombies.
