Jumbled, chaotic story telling. Having read a John le Carré novel, I’m guess the film is better then the book. Just like Tess keeps Justin in the dark about the plots she has uncovered, so the audience is kept in the dark. I think a drug company was using the population of Kenya to test a new TB drug, but I’m not really sure. I feel the film wanted to focus more on the corruption, complacency and coverup of Western Governments to their companies actions. But I’m not sure about that. The hidden, unfolding story never seems to unfold enough to me to really understand it.
