Classic detective film of a Nick and Nora Charles, to social dandies, who would be raging alcoholics if this film wasn’t made 1934. Instead we get to laugh along to their drunken antics. Nick is a retired detective who is falls into investigating a disappearance, when all he really wants is a case of scotch. The film is great for it’s relaxed style, the plot is only to move things along. It concerns itself more with drunken parties and quick comebacks, luckily those are its strengths.
