Jonathan Caouette took years of photographs, video tapes and 8mm films from his life and edited them together as a documentary of his and his mother’s disturbed lives. The first ten minutes (horrible typography aside, though when half the film depends on captions it should be far better) set ups this unique visual style of rapid fire photographs. The next hour and 20 minutes grinds all the interest out of the style and the story. Far too long and frustrating because of it.
