The look of pre-World War II Japan is seemingly captured, with long pans over the rooftops, quick runs through tight crowed alleyways, the rituals of Sumo, the exquisite bath houses and customs. It looks very good, leading me to wonder how much was built. However the movie itself is very bland, long and unremarkable.
