A documentary that tries to explain the epic work of Henry Darger, I reclusive Janitor from Chicago. After a tumultuous childhood, Darger reteated in his own world for the 60 years of his life. His life’s work being the 15000 page The Story of the Vivian Girls, in what is Known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion. The documentary tries to reconcile three intertwined stories: the people around Darger, Darger own autobiography and The Realms of the Unreal. The film is slow at points, but well constructed, Darger’s artwork presented in animated in excerpts from the novel.
