The Milagro Beanfield War portrays the back-door scheming of developers against the rural poor. It provides a good depiction of the escalation and anonymous dirty tricks that can be played by both sides, until the reach a decisive point. The film comes across somewhat pandering to the local population and has a little too much divine intervention to move the plot.
