King Corn covers a lot of familiar ground. I feel like I often do when I see a documentary not produced to a professional standard, it's a wasted opportunity. They interview Micheal Pollan and Earl Butz, introduce some characters from Greene, Iowa and have an acre of corn to lavish attention on. But everything is rushed, garbled and incomplete. The shell of a great documentary is there, without the time spent to fill it.
