Be Kind Rewind is a better realization of Michel Gondry's obsession with analogue then his previous films. The VHS remakes of films are fun, but the plot, dialogue and characters make me long for when Gondry was realizing other people's writing. The film is full of moronic man-boys, Jack Black's and Mos Def's characters would make sense if they were 15.
