The amazing thing about Z is how close to reality it is. It's methodically leads up to the assassination and it's investigation and prosecution. It's incredibly gripping to the point of almost being an action film. It is only lightly fictionalize from the reality in Greece, being released six years after the events while the country was still under a military dictatorship. It's damming and frightening and must have been incendiary when it was released.
