La Moustache clearly deals with self identity and perception and the reliance on others in defining oneself. It becomes disturbing and unsettling, he does just shave his moustache, but conceivable and frightening. Then it wanders elsewhere into ambiguity and derangement, before settling in exotic places. It leaves open it's story and meaning with few guides, other then facial hair.
