Tom Ripley stumbles from a men's room attendant with high aspirations into the world of young rich American ex-patriots in Italy. A world he desires to be his own. The film follows his fascinating transformation into a decisive amoral impostor, clutching to his ambitions. All the performances are fantastic and the locations beautiful. Unfortunately the pacing doesn't match the otherwise high standards.
