Meryl Streep is delightful as Julia Child. As is Stanley Tucci as Paul Child. Julie is forgettable and becomes annoying, as when Amy Adams was on screen, I missed the colorful, postwar Paris lifestyle of the Childs. I wish the film had stayed in that fantasy world. Queens is depicted as grim and dull, and the characters populating it narcissistic and aggravating. Julia would have been a much stronger film, if it could leave Julie behind.
