A witty, surprising dark comedy, that in 1960 must have been somewhat shocking. A passing mention in a episode of Mad Men lead me to the Apartment, it is a obviously a great influence. Wilder deftly keeps it funny despite the hazards of the plot dealing with infidelity, suicide and exploitation. It's full of excellent lines worth appropriating and makes for an charmimg film.
