I was poorly served by a bad English dub. It was flat and fast paced. The visuals were incredibly cinematic, dense dark urban canals, crowded illuminated advertising, urban highways weaving through skyscrapers. The plot was as dense and crammed, never pandering, nor elucidating. That combined with the poor English dub, made the whole film feel like the first act in something much longer. Which is a shame, visuals aside, the voice acting made watching Ghost in the Shell a chore.
