F for Fake is confusing and convoluted, but entertaining throughout. Purportedly a free-form documentary on forgery, it's really Orson Wells taking the audience for a joyride of duplicity, bravado and his charming lies. Which makes it so engaging, despite the slight connections among the all forgers and charlatans. Its fun to be fully entangled in Wells competent hands, even if I don't know half of what was going on.
