For his birthday Micheal Douglas is enlisted in a game. A game that soon consumes his life and leaves him alone, paranoid and fighting for his life (or so he thinks, maybe). The Game is thrilling, suspenseful, generally good. In parts the pretense goes too far and the film becomes overly elaborate. And the half twist ending is ultimately disappointing. Douglas gains his humanity, but no one cares.
