I appreciated the motives, the concept and the production of Monsters. It succeeds by placing the romantic adventure in the foreground and the alien troubles in the background. The production value is impressive given it's semi-improvised, inexpensive nature. When their are effects they go awe more then shock. The film however lacked depth. There seems to be nothing to the title, no substantive allegories behind the plot, and no more to communicate.
