It starts off bad. Miami Vice relocated to the haze of Los Angeles, with roguish Secret Service agents hunting a counterfeiter. The first half feels like b-rate action. In seeking revenge Agent Chance begins by bending the law, until he breaks it. And with that the film crescendos with astonishing car chases, betrayals, deadly showdowns and unforeseen consequences.
