Concise yet complex and suspenseful throughout, The Hunt for Red October is surprisingly entertaining. It's fun to watch Sean Connery's Ramius outsmart the Soviet and US fleets. And Alec Baldwin's Jack Ryan is more a witty, intellectual bureaucrat then masterful field agent. It's a well made and tense Hollywood thriller, that is far better then I remembered.
