A French espionage film about a disillusioned Soviet colonel who leaked the high-level farewell dossier to the West, though a French engineer. Set in 1981 Moscow, it focus on the relationship of the colonel and engineer, periodically juxtaposed with Reagan, Mitterrand and Gorbachev dealing with the full impact of the dossier. It is a great film, well made and thrilling with a subdued tone and feel.
