A documentary on the Source Family cult in Southern California in the early 1970s. The filmmakers had great access to interviews, archival materials and a lot of footage. They didn’t find a well-constructed narrative. It has a interesting story to tell, or maybe it doesn’t and that’s what makes it insipid.
